Maarten Janssen paints with the idea to cut off context. By means of, for example dice and paint bombs, the paintings regulate their own construction. By throwing them at the canvas and following a strict procedure for filling in the spatters, traces and imprints, Janssen examines the possibility of make paintings that reflect themselves and do not show anything at the same time. Sometimes he uses digital numbers and noise to activate the space. This causes the work of art to become isolated. At this point the constructed images show the quest for Objective Truth.

Maarten Janssen schildert met het idee de context uit te schakelen. Met behulp van o.a. dobbelstenen en verfbommen reguleren de schilderijen hun eigen opbouw. Door deze op het doek te gooien en een strakke procedure te volgen om de spetters, sporen en afdrukken in te vullen onderzoekt Janssen de mogelijkheid schilderijen te maken die zichzelf weergeven en tegelijkertijd niets laten zien. Hij gebruikt soms digitale getallen en ruis om de ruimte te activeren. Het gevolg hiervan is dat het getoonde werk geïsoleerd wordt. Op dat moment laten de geconstrueerde werken de zoektocht naar de Objectieve Waarheid zien.
