Tlatelolco, neon sign, 40 x 180 cm.
Lance Wyman’s famous logo for the Olympic Games in Mexico 1968 is being converted to the word TLATELOLCO: The name of a square that has become synonymous with the massacre of student protesters, committed by the Mexican military one week before the games started on Oct 2 1968. More than 300 died in the worst incident during the worldwide student riots of 1968. Tlatelolco is Mexico’s Tiananmen square.
