On the 15th of February, the third Persian Poetry Afternoon will take place in the Cultuurhaven at West, organized by Eli. The Auditorium of the former American embassy will be entirely dedicated to the beauty and spirit of both Farsi and Dutch poetry.

This time, the theme is “A Meeting in Words, ” with special guest Nafiss Nia. Nafiss Nia is an Iranian-Dutch poet and filmmaker. She has published several poetry collections, including Esfahan, mijn hoopstee and 26 woorden voor schoonheid, as well as a number of (short) feature films and documentaries. She has contributed to various anthologies and collections, and to film festivals such as International Film Festival Rotterdam.

During this Persian Poetry Afternoon, Nia will create a meeting in words with the audience. She will speak about her creativity and her process as a maker, the (cinematic) choices she has to make, and the importance of storytelling. This is not a lecture or a film screening, but a session focused on listening, recognition, and connection.

From 14:00 onwards, you are warmly invited to attend this special afternoon in the Auditorium at West Den Haag. Admission is free with registration.
